Judicial Appointment

After several years as a lawyer for Wake County social services, and the Guardian Ad Litem, Lori decides to petition for judgeship. Candidates must petition other lawyers to vote for them to occupy vacant judicial positions. These positions are filled by the Governor based on whom the legal community votes for, and also appointments at the Governors’ discretion. The candidates must be able to demonstrate above ordinary commitment, competence, and leadership skills to their peers. One must not only be an effective legal advocate, but also must be able to interact well (and favorably) with ones peers, and be seen as an effective leader. Lori wins an appointment by the Governor for a position with the Wake County District Judicial Court.
